New Location
We have completed our move to historic Corydon, In. This move has been in the works for several months, the transition was a little rough as expected, but all in all things went pretty well.
There were some delays in appliance parts shipments to our customers because of this but not many. Our toll free number was suppose to be transferred on Sunday evening April 29,2007, but actually didn't get transferred until Tuesday May 1, 2007, way to go Verizon!.
Corydon, In is actually Indiana's first capitol, there is definitely a lot of history here, about one block from our office is where the Indiana constitution was signed, under an Elm tree in June 1816, the tree had a 132 foot span from branch tip to branch tip and stood 50 feet tall.
Our office, located at 500 North Capitol Ave. is actually a historic place as well, let me elaborate;
500 North Capitol Avenue
Gresham-Tracewell House
Built in 1859
Walter Q. Gresham and his wife Matilda McGrain Gresham owned this house from 1859-1865. Wounded Confederate soldiers from the battle of Corydon were cared for in this house. Gresham served as Civil War general and federal judge. He also served in the U.S. Cabinet as Postmaster General, Secretary of the Treasury and President Cleveland's Secretary of State.
In 1865, the house was sold to William Neal Tracewell. His son, Robert John Tracewell, who lived in the house as a boy, served as Comptroller of the U.S. Treasury under Presidents Mckinley, Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson.
The home has been converted into offices, one half is our call center, and the other is a national insurance agency.
It's so nice to be this close to the history of this little town. The people here in Corydon are wonderful, always wanting to help out in any way they can. This move is for keeps, I like to say! and a great place to do business and raise a family.
If your ever passing through this area, stop by Corydon, there are so many points of interest here it would take me several pages to include them all! and if you have time, stop by our office and say hello, we would love to hear from you.
